About the 3rd Legacy Meetings

Third Legacy Meetings occur quarterly (February, May, August, November) and are comprised of four participating districts:  District 3, District 4, District 13, and District 30. It is based on the Third of the three legacies of Unity, Recovery, and Service, left by our founders. Our last 3rd Legacy coordinator was Jean Roberson who passed away earlier this year; our current coordinator is Don Comstock.

The 3rd Legacy meetings consist of four 15-minute presentations by one or two representatives of the four districts on topics assigned by our coordinator; each month, one of the four districts is host and provides the snacks and a cake for the fellowship periods. Also, the hosting district pays for the meeting’s rent for the day it hosts. In August, our Area 5 delegate uses this meeting to give a report from the General Service Conference, so no other presentations are given.

About the Area’s Steering Committee Meeting

There are several committees serving our area, Area 5. Every quarter, the Steering Committee Meeting convenes to report of goings-on/updates for his/her committee to the Area Chairperson, the Delegate, and the Alternate Delegate. Only committee chairs are required to attend; however, anyone is welcome to sit in and listen to what’s being planned. Meeting venues change but can be found on the Area website (above) and usually occur in Hollywood or Pasadena.
